Run the Peachtree Junior on May 14!

Peachtree Junior is a fun, non-competitive event that introduces kids ages 14 and under to the excitement of the AJC Peachtree Road Race in a safe and welcoming environment. In addition to the running component, there will also be a post-race festival featuring a kid-friendly decathlon where children will be encouraged to try up to ten track and field events. The Atlanta Track Club is even bringing Dan O'Brien, 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist in the decathlon, back to Atlanta to meet the children and teach them about the different events.

As part of its effort to get kids active, ATC has developed the Peachtree Junior Challenge scholarship competition. Three group scholarships will be awarded to the schools or nonprofits with the most children registered for this year's Peachtree Junior events. Donations will also be awarded to schools and nonprofits with 50 or more children registered. Participants must pre-register online and include the name of their school or organization to be eligible.

Scholarship amounts:

1st Place - $2,000 Scholarship
2nd Place - $1,500 Scholarship
3rd Place - $1,000 Scholarship

Donation amounts (scholarship recipients not eligible for additional funds):

Groups of 50 or more: $250
Groups of 100 or more: $500

The Atlanta Track Club would love to have DHMS join it at the 2016 Peachtree Junior and potentially earn a scholarship or donation! For more information and to register, please visit: 2016 Peachtree Junior Registration Page.
